Welcome to Whole Life Studio
My name is Surya Leigh Mellor, RP, MFA, MPS. I am a Registered Psychotherapist, artist, and sound practitioner. In addition to my psychotherapy practice in Walkerton at the historic Walker House, I also welcome clients and community into Whole Life Studio, my home studio north of Durham.
Whole Life Studio is a spacious, light-filled environment set within a cedar forest. It serves as both a therapy space and a community gathering place. In my psychotherapy work, I draw on somatic therapy, sound as a therapeutic tool, art-based processes, and integrative trauma-responsive approaches. Sessions at the Studio allow for movement, creative engagement, and embodied practices that complement and deepen the therapeutic process.
The Studio is also a home for community offerings — sound baths, workshops, and kirtan. These gatherings are guided by the values of belonging, creative expression, and restorative practice. They provide an opportunity to pause, connect, and renew through sound and shared experience.
Through both psychotherapy and community practice, my vision for Whole Life Studio is to hold space where connection, presence, and wholeness can be experienced and lived.
Registration is required for the Sound Bath.
Please register on the Contact Page, and indicate the month you would like to attend. Many thanks.

The upcoming Sound Bath’s will continue to explore themes of awakening, flow, and renewal through Mindful Sound and attunement. As the season warms and colour emerges, sessions will support both the settling of the nervous system and a gentle movement toward opening into the warmth.
Mindful Sound is the practice of resting attention in sound—listening not only with the ears, but with the whole body. Through sustained tones, rhythm, and vibration, awareness is gently anchored in the present moment, supporting nervous system regulation and embodied presence.
Through layered sound and periods of quiet, participants are invited to attune to internal rhythm, breath, and sensation. In this way, sound becomes both a point of focus and a field of awareness—where thinking can soften and a direct experience of presence can emerge.
These gatherings offer a space to pause, listen, and reconnect, supporting both rest and the natural unfolding of the spring season.
We look forward to gathering together in the studio for sound and silence.
